When you arrive at Sanford, you will notice that we are tucked into a small pocket of the city that was once the heart of Milwaukee’s Italian neighborhood, bordering what is now known as the East Side.

Sanford’s dining room is an intimate 20-table space and does not include a traditional bar. We do have a full-service bar in the kitchen, and we offer a wide range of beverages, including wine, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options.

Guests often choose business or smart casual attire during the week and slightly more formal dress on weekends, though we do not enforce a dress code — we simply ask that you be comfortable.

Valet parking is available ($20), and we have a secure lot for your vehicle.

Dining at Sanford is meant to be a leisurely experience. Our goal is to give guests the time and space to relax and enjoy their evening while we take care of the details. Because our dining room is small and the experience is meant to be unhurried, we respectfully ask that young children stay with a sitter. Thank you for understanding.

We look forward to welcoming you to Sanford!

Allergies and Dietary Restrictions
When making a reservation, we kindly ask that you share any food allergies or dietary restrictions with our team at that time. Our menus are built with a high level of detail and intention, which can make last-minute modifications difficult—especially for the seven-course tasting menu, which takes shape each evening. Letting us know in advance allows our chefs the opportunity to plan thoughtfully and offer the best possible experience.

“Corkage Fee” and Carry-In Policy
Wisconsin Statute 125.32(6)(a) prohibits patrons from bringing their own alcoholic beverages into a licensed restaurant for consumption. Because of this law, Sanford is not permitted to open or serve wine or other alcoholic beverages brought in by guests. We understand guests may have special bottles they would enjoy sharing; however, state law does not allow us to accommodate these requests. We appreciate your understanding and would be happy to help you select something from our wine and beverage list to enjoy with your meal.
